Your car is an investment that needs routine care and maintenance to keep it reliable.

What type of service and when ?
There are so many recommendations regarding service schedules and intervals which differ from manufacturer to manufacturer, some people say Your vehicle should ideally go through an interim car servicing every 6 months or 6,000 miles. Then a full car servicing which should be carried out every 12 months or 12,000 miles, also with advances in oils and the improvements in vehicle technology we see manufacturers increasing service intervals to 20,000 miles or 2years.

Then on top of this there is the type of service, with terminology and content aimed to confuse the customer, some garages term a full service as just an oil and oil filter change with an Air filter together with a basic check of the car, however our advice to the customer, check the content of a full service, a full service normally includes:

• Engine oil and Filter change
• Air filter replacement
• Fuel filter replacement
• Cabin filter replacement
• Spark plugs if required
• Brake Fluid change

Here at Waltons we simply recommend annual servicing, alternating each year between a Standard service and a Full service.
